Avro Lancaste B.Mk III, RAF No. 82 Sqn., "Mickey the Moocher", BBMF
The Corgi Aviation Archive "Warbirds" series offers a low-cost way of building a high-quality diecast model collection. Featuring the same great attention to detail as the existing Aviation Archive range, aircraft in the Warbirds series feature permanently retracted landing gear.
Aircraft lettered "M" were usually know as "Mike" or "Mother" but in this instance one of the crew called it "Mickey" and it was decorated with Mickey Mouse on the nose, becoming known as "Mickey the Moocher". Bomb symbols appear in rows of 10 above Mickey and depict the number of ops that the plane flew on.
