ITEM DESCRIPTION

The Fairey Firefly FR. MK.I was designed to meet a Fleet Air Arm requirement for a fast two-seat carrier-based aircraft to fulfill both the fighter and reconnaissance roles. The prototype flew in 1941. Fireflys served in both European and Far East theatres in WWII, and for many years afterwards in the service of many countries.
