Captain G.M. Power

Canadian Armed Forces

 

Born in St. John's, Newfoundland in 1947, Capt Powers joined the RCAF in 1966 and graduated as a navigator in 1967. After completing two tours he applied to become a pilot, earning his wings in 1976. After a year of advanced training at CFB Cold Lake he was transferred to 439 Tactical Fighter Squadron at Baden Sollingen.

The husband of Lois Power, Captain G.M.  Power was killed on the 13 March 1978, when his Canadian 104 Starfighter tail number 104838 crashed during a training mission while stationed at Lahr, West Germany.
